Agenda

• Overview of Sioux Falls Transit (SFT) logistics, routes, etc

• Overview of SFT promotional strategies

• Overview of SFT vision for the future

• Distribution of SFT informational pamphlet as well as SFT Transportation Plan Final Report

• For balance of meeting, attendees joined SFT presenters for a brief 'bus tour' by riding the downtown/E. Walmart route for about 35 minutes

        Discussions

• Several NLC members had some good discussions with the SFT folks about the SFT program in general

• Several NLC members also discussed with SFT folks about the possibility of more passes allocated for the 'Free Bus Pass' program

• SFT folks did empathize with the 'increased allocation' request, but also expressed concern about the SFT goals of generating more revenue, expanding routes, etc

• Based on further NLC/SFT discussion, SFT seemed open to a NLC proposal/initiative that might include a compromise of purchasing blocks of bus passes at a discounted rate

• SFT folks agreed to give a NLC proposal a hearing with the possibility of endorsing/promoting the proposal to the SFT Advisory Board

        Follow-Ups

• Several NLC members will do additional follow-up/research with a view towards developing a bus pass plan/proposal

• The proposal will be discussed at the next NLC Meeting, scheduled for the 4th Tuesday of September
